Young specialists of a commodity transportation methodology laboratory at the Pipeline Transport Institute (PTI) Yulia Vishnevskaya and Anna Aberkova have won 1st place at the 73rd international youth conference “Oil and Gas - 2019” within the “Design, Construction and Operation of Pipeline Transportation Systems” section and were awarded with a diploma.
The conference was held in Moscow, at Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in pursuance of the order of the Government of the Russian Federation with the aim of identifying and supporting prospective youth research projects. Students, PhD students and young specialists under the age of 35 employed at companies and research institutes participated in the event.
The research paper submitted for the competition by PTI specialists was devoted to the prospects of in-line analysis in trunk pipeline transportation of petroleum products.
The work considers the procedure for operational quality control of petroleum products transported through trunk pipelines, in terms of monitoring of the mixing zone for batched petroleum products and monitoring of the purity of petroleum products upon completion of maintenance and repair works at facilities of the petroleum products trunk pipeline system.
The work summarises the materials of the research carried out in 2017–2018 as part of two research projects and determines the prospects for expanding the field of introduction of in-line quality analysers in petroleum products trunk pipeline systems.
