Transneft R&D, LLC held the second annual meeting of the editorial board of Oil and petroleum products Pipeline Transportation: Science & Technology and Pipeline Science and Technology industrial journals.
The scope of the event traditionally includes a research and practice meeting held in Transneft R&D, LLC and a familiarization trip of scientific community representatives to production facilities.
Distinguished scientist and specialists from Russia, Canada, USA, Australia, France, Italy and other countries participated in the meeting of the editorial board of the journals. The editorial board consists of 36 members in total. The main topic of the meeting and the overall discussion was the scientific research activity arrangement and perspectives for printed materials development.
“During the editorial board performance, scientific schools represented by the editorial board members made proposals. I assume that will help to bring the journals to a new level,’ Olga Molchanova, the editorial board member, professor of Faculty of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University, noted.
After the meeting was over, the trip to Novorossiysk, to the Europe’s largest Sheskharis Transshipment Complex, which is being under a great reconstruction at the moment, was organized for the editorial board members. The guests saw the production facilities, including Grushovaya site and south portal of Grushovaya – Sheskharis unmanned technological tunnel.
The members of the meeting were able to review in practice the technical solutions implemented at the production site in Novorossiysk that were developed with the participation of Transneft R&D specialists.
The Director of the Engineering Policy Department of KazTransOil, JSC, Berik Saiakhov shared his impressions: “This is my first time at such facility of Transneft and I’m impressed with what I’ve seen. Now my colleagues form Kazakhstan and I will have an opportunity to compare Russian technologies and facilities to ours. I suppose that materials on implementation of such technologies should be published more often in the journal, and of course extend the publication topics on R&D.”
Yuanhua Lin, professor of School of Material Science and Engineering of Southwest Petroleum Institute (China), noted during the visit at the production facility: “My aim is to build a bridge by means of the journal between Russia and China for new technologies information exchange, including ecology and production areas.”
Summarizing the meeting results, the editorial board members noted that the scope of the event proposed by Transneft R&D, LLC became a good platform for efficient communication of scientific workers from different parts of the world.
A member of the editorial board, assistant professor of the Laboratory for Theoretical Physics and Material Physics of Hassiba Ben Bouali University (Algeria), Mohammed Hadj Meliani made a point of the meeting. “The main thing is that my colleagues - the members of the editorial board - represent different spheres of science. That’s why it’s so important to work together and Pipeline Science and Technology journal is an efficient platform for scientific research development in up-to-date spheres,” he noted.
The International scientific Pipeline Science and Technology journal is published since 2017 and is a joint project of Transneft R&D, LLC and a British publishing house Technical Production Ltd. The geographical spread of the journal covers 72 countries; the editorial board consists of 36 scientists and industry experts.
Pipeline Science and Technology journal became a winner of the third prize according to the results of the third Media TEK Nationwide Contest of Mass Media, FES Press Services, and Regional Administrations in the nominated category “Federal Mass Media” - “Russian FES abroad”.
